With the continuous deepening of manufacturing informatization and the continuous development of the market, the competition of products is becoming more and more fierce, and the market brings more and more pressure to enterprises. Product quality management system plays a more and more important role in the process of enterprise management, which not only requires the product quality management system to reduce the cost of products and enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises, but also improve the quality of products and provide high-quality services for users.
At present, the workshop production management is mainly based on extensive manual management, which lags far behind the market and users’ requirements for the enterprise. If an enterprise wants to produce high-quality and low-cost products, it must informatization the production management, and replace the manual extensive management with the accurate management and control of computer, so as to realize the effectiveness, high efficiency and low cost of production management. Then, in this process, product quality management system came into being.
Now we see hundreds of product quality management software on the market. Are there any different or better than others? Douglas C. fair, a master of the Six Sigma Black Belt in the United States, wrote in an article published in the authoritative quality magazine quality Digest: “when selecting an appropriate product quality management system, priority should be given to whether the system is real-time monitoring or post analysis.”
First of all, whether it is real-time monitoring or post analysis, the two types of software are produced in a unique environment for different users. Therefore, the two are not comparable. However, it should be made clear that post hoc analysis software generally runs on office computers and is used by engineers, scientists and statisticians. They usually input the data into a spreadsheet and then analyze the data using different analysis methods. The post analysis software is used offline, free from the factory environment, and pays more attention to the research of data, such as experimental design (DOE) technology, multiple linear regression, ANOVA, MANOVA and other high-end statistical fields. Operators rarely use such tools, and if so, operators rarely interact with such tools.
The other kind focuses on real-time data acquisition and analysis software in the workshop, and the other kind focuses on real-time data acquisition and analysis software. The product of real-time product quality management system is designed for the operator. After collecting the data, the operator saves the data in the enterprise network. Real time analysis software can directly communicate with electronic measuring tools (such as balance, micrometer and three coordinates). In the analysis, we prefer to use control chart, histogram and box line chart. When the new data is entered into the real-time analysis system, the quality expert can make a decision to change the process or confirm that everything is normal after receiving the information. The product quality management system can give an alarm, and the operator or relevant support personnel can take immediate action to adjust the process that does not run as expected.
Obviously, the product quality management system with real-time monitoring has greater advantages and functions. Of course, in the process of selecting manufacturers of product quality management system, we should also make careful choices in combination with many factors, such as system ease of use, implementation cycle, return on investment, served customers, expert background, service response degree, etc.
