The packaging industry, especially when we talk about the food and cosmetic sectors, requires a rigorous quality control in the packaging and handling of products to meet the needs and expectations of users as well as to improve business competitiveness.
Quality is the element that will make the products stand above those of the competition and that the consumer chooses one brand or another at the end of his purchase decision process. In IPQCCO, we carry out different types of quality control in the products of our customers. We show them below:
1. Preliminary or initial production inspection
It is the first control of all, before production begins. It would be, then, a prior inspection that is executed in the same facilities of the company. The customer’s raw material, the procedure to be implemented and the correct operation and cleaning of the machinery are reviewed.
In the event of finding any type of problem, the customer or the production manager is notified in order to solve the matter.
2. Inspection during production (in-process control)
As the name suggests, it is the control that develops during the production process. Every hour the quality technicians examine the manufactured batch online to verify that it is correctly packaged. It is a way of ensuring that production is being effective and that it meets the requirements. If any unforeseen event occurs, there is enough time to react and correct the errors.
This type of control covers needs such as functionality, coding and batching, labeling, appearance, dosed quantity and dimensions of the product.
3. Final inspection
It is the last phase of production. We ensure that the product has been properly packaged and/or handled and that the total quantity requested by the customer has been made. The packaged lots are placed in boxes and it is checked that the packaging incorporates the barcode, transport label, lot number, etc. Boxes must be properly pre-sealed and palletized to reduce the risk of damage during shipping. Finally, the fair loading of the product in the transport container is controlled.

A fundamental aspect in any quality control is that everything must be reported since it will be the best method to compare the results obtained and will establish whether or not the quality tools we are using have the desired impact.
