– Nylon is a synthetic polymer with wear resistance, high toughness, high strength and good heat resistance. With high rigidity and flexibility, nylon printed parts have some sense of particles, no support and almost no post-treatment.
– Nylon is suitable for prototype and functional verification components, such as gears and tools. Nylon can be reinforced with carbon fiber or glass fiber, so that lightweight components have excellent mechanical properties.
– Nylon has high rigidity and flexibility. When you print a thin product, your parts will be flexible, while when you print a thick wall, your parts will be rigid. This is very suitable for the production of movable hinges with rigid parts and flexible joints. Nylon printed parts have some graininess, no support and almost no post-treatment.
– Nylon 3D printing can be used to make moving and interlocking parts. This eliminates the need to assemble separate printed parts and makes it possible to produce highly complex objects faster.
– More than 60% of 3D printed nylon powder materials are printed by SLS process. Nylon 11 (PA11) and nylon 12 (PA12) are the two most commonly used nylon materials. PA11 has better UV and impact resistance, while PA12 has higher strength and stiffness. There are also various reinforced composites, such as glass fiber and carbon fiber reinforced nylon, which have better mechanical properties, just like the modification of plastic materials.April 25, 2022 at 7:41 am #1714opi ciParticipant1. Nylon material is a synthetic polymer, which has the characteristics of wear resistance, high toughness, high strength and good heat resistance. Therefore, it is suitable for prototype and functional verification parts, and can better highlight the mechanical properties of samples
2. At present, the 3D printing technology that can print nylon mainly includes SLS (laser selective powder sintering technology), MJF (multi jet melting) and FDM (melt deposition technology)
3. The nylon materials printed by SLS and MJF technology hardly need to add support, because the nylon printed parts have some sense of particles, the powder can bear a certain weight, there is no support, and there is almost no need for post-treatment
4. Nylon material absorbs water easily, so it is easier to paint and color, and has higher strength and flexibility
5. Nylon 3D printing has excellent impact resistance and flexibility. It is suitable for the production of prosthetics, insoles, sporting goods, buckles, movable hinges and so on. -
